Baking has always been a hobby of mine, but ever since the pandemic, it has turned into a passion. As a full-time working professional and mother of 3 children, finding the time to bake, while balancing out their likes and tastes can have its challenges.  However, baking has a soothing quality where I know I can feel calm and grounded.  Thus, I decided to embark on a new journey to venture into the world of baked goods.  My special treats include Banana Nut Bread, Baklava, and Cake Pops.  While being conscious of each individuals’ preferences, I explored nut free and vegan alternatives.  Now, each tasty treat has the option of adding nuts, chocolate, and making it vegan friendly.  It’s exciting to share the deliciousness of these sweet and nutty confections that are baked to perfection.

About the Cake Pops--Pretty and Tasty - My children especially love the cake pops, even before they are dipped into chocolate or decorated with sprinkles.  The aroma of freshly baked vanilla/chocolate cake, coupled with a moist center has never tasted so delicious!  I have decorated them with white and/or dark chocolate, edible rice paper, and a gamut of various colored sprinkles/confections.  My children started sharing them with friends and later became popular at get-togethers and birthdays.  These bite size treats are pretty to look at and tasty to eat!

About the Baklava--“I’ll Be Bak (For More)!” This crispy, buttery, layered pastry made of phyllo dough and filled with nuts galore, topped with honey, with the option of chocolate drizzle, is a dessert that will have you keep coming “bak” for more!

About the Banana Nut Bread - This has been an all time favorite with a variety of recipes.  What makes one recipe stand out from the others is that we look for the fragrance it gives off, the sweetness of the banana, the texture of the bread, and the crunchiness of the nuts.  This staple does not require any of the bells and whistles and tastes delicious as is.  Once you have a bite, you’ll be wanting more.

About the Banana Bread - As an alternative to Banana Nut Bread, those with nut allergies can still enjoy this variation.  The aroma coming from the bananas, the warmness of the bread, and the slight crunch of the crust, makes this another winner.  Without the nuts, you can add chocolate chips which gives it the extra touch.

What’s great about all of these delicious treats is that they can be made nut-free and vegan!
